I personally am of age that I can attend a nightclub or bar and know how difficult it is to choose a nightclub/bar that will give my group of friends and myself the best night out possible. When trying to entice the current mobile generation of today into your nightclub/bar you have to get in contact with them through their mobile devices as it the mobile generations most personal item. There are various ways to do this such as:

1. SMS Messaging
SMS messaging has been around for a while but hasn’t been properly executed on mass until now. Example: You are running a night and would like to get the word out, you simply set up an opt-in campaign to gather peoples mobile numbers with an incentive attached. Through this action you now have mobile numbers that you can promote your events to whenever you want as well as other promotions.

2. Mobile Websites
Mobile websites are great addition as nowadays the mobile generation (18-30) can now search for anything while they are on the move. Example: A group of ladies are just finishing their cocktails at a nearby bar and are wondering where to head after they have finished their drinks, if you had a suitable mobile website that meant people did not have to zoom in and out then they are more likely to check out the website and make a decision by either calling up your club or bar to make reservations.

3. QR Codes
QR Codes are necessary nowadays as it creates a gateway between real and digital life and is great for communicating a message to prospective customers. Example: Your PR team were handing out flyers for your nightclub/bar and on the flyers there was a QR code, this would enable you to send a more detailed message than what you could supply on a flyer. This in turn would enable potential customers to learn more about you bar/nightclub without having to put much effort in.

4. Integrate Social Media
Social media is as much a necessity as mobile marketing in this current time. Social media though is more for cementing long term relationships with your customers and potential customers. Integrate it with mobile marketing and you have a marketing campaign that will be ahead of the times. Example: You are running a promotion on your social media pages but people aren’t seeing the offers as you are posting it at awkward times or when the world of facebook and twitter are busy and its not staying at the top of news feeds for long. This is when mobile marketing comes into its own as you can target people immediately and get your message out to a wider audience.

5. Location Based Marketing
Location based marketing is at it’s infancy right now and if you get in there and utilise it from the start the return on your investment will be outstanding. Example: People are out and about wondering where to go and when they go past your establishment they recieve offers so undoubtedly they will at least come and check it out because no-one can refuse an offer that has been put right in front of their eyes via their mobile phones.
